Joktan (Yaqtan) was one of the two sons of Eber (Gen. 10:25; 1 Chr. 1:19). His brother was Peleg and one of his sons was Sheba. A variant spelling of the name is Jokshan, and in Hebrew Joktan and Jokshan are virtually identical.
