Risto Santala (May 1929 - September 2012)

Risto Santala, the Finnish Bible scholar and expert on Paul, has written about the corruption of the mystery of Christ. He wrote, "The esoteric Qabbalah wandered off the right track in creating a very extensive literature on doctrines of angels and mysteries relating to God's being (razei El). Only those over the age of forty were allowed to study them. The angel RAZIEL, whose numeric value in gematria is 248 and who thus knew the inner secrets of the two hundred and forty-eight 'do'- commandments, gave Adam the 'Sefer Raziel', that is, 'the Book of Raziel', an esoteric source. The enormous literature of the Qabbalah is occupied with these imaginary conjectures. They indeed have 'an appearance of wisdom,' but both Jesus and Paul entirely renounced them."

Santala continues, "Paul did not fall into esoteric peculiarities. He rested on the Old Testament prophecies of the Messiah. But they too are, as it were, sealed until the time of fulfillment. Therefore, we are told about the disciples that the risen Jesus 'opened their understanding to understand the Scriptures' (Luke 24:45)."

"Jewish scholars often refer to Deut. 29:29: "The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children for ever, that we may follow all the words of this Law... it is said of the 'second Moses' or the Messiah that 'I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account' (Deut. 18:18-19)."

The Afro-Asiatic mystical number system has as it signature base 9. This number's special properties are recognized throughout the Afro-Asiatic Paleo-Dominion that extended from West Africa through Egypt, the Arabian Peninsula, Palestine, and Mesopotamia to the Indus River Valley. The mala (Vedic beaded necklace) has 108 beads which represents the whole of existence. Consider this: 1 + 0 + 8 = 9. Then 9 + 1 = 10 which is a new beginning or 108. The 9 planets traveling through the 12 signs constitutes the whole of existence: 9 x 12 = 108. The Dogon use a base 9 number system. The 8 Nommo and the 1 God = 9.

The Dogon of West Africa are recognized for their knowledge of astronomy. The Dogon knew of Sirius B, a white dwarf companion to Sirius A before its presence was detected by conventional astronomy. This invisible star wasn’t photographed until 1970.

The Dogon are believed to have migrated from Egypt and they physically resemble the ancient Egyptians. Now remember that the 3 Great Pyramids are aligned in the same way as the 3 belt stars that comprise Orion’s belt are aligned.

What is the relationship between the great Pyramids and the Dogon? If one were to draw an imaginary celestial line from the belt stars of Orion, the line would point to Sirius A. Likewise an imaginary terrestrial line would point from Egypt to the region of West Africa to which the Dogon migrated. This supports the claim that the Dogon are of ancient Egyptian descent.

The Dogon knew that the planets circle the sun, that Jupiter has four major moons and Saturn has rings. These were all facts discovered after the invention of the telescope, by the Dogon are said to have known these facts before the time of Galileo. Dogon ceremonies to celebrate the cycle of Sirius A and B have been performed since the 13th century.

This says that Mircea Eliade was correct in his observation that tribal peoples are guided by their reading of the constellations and that their ceremonies mimic the events and relationships that they observe in the heavens. It also suggests that certain peoples identified constellations as their own just as some tribes take animals for their totems. The selection of a constellation is not random however. In the case of the Dogon they selected a binary star system related to Orion. Orion and the number 3 were sacred to the ancient Egyptians, who were also binary in their view of the cosmos.

Amos 8:4-12, which speaks of cardinal directions:

"The time is surely coming, says the Lord GOD, when I will send a famine on the land; not a famine of bread, or a thirst for water,
but of hearing the words of the LORD. They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east;
they shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, but they shall not find it."

The Tradition teaches the people to mystically seek Yahweh by turning north and east, but even following the Tradition they cannot find God because their sin cuts them off from the LORD's presence.
