Q and A with Mr. Jose Bulang

For a few years I have been having fascinating conversations with Mr. Jose C. Bulang of Bohol in the Philippine Islands. Some of these conversations are available to read under "related reading' at the bottom of this post. What follows is a more recent conversation.


Mr. Bulang: Good afternoon, Madame Linsley. Pardon my ignorance mam, but I wish to ask clarification. Am I right to say that Kushite is a nation being composed of many races or people with mixtures of colors of their skin tones? And among the Kushite is an Ainu race, Ainu or Annun or Annen is a race being of a red skin tone? If Shri Vijaya, accordingly is a brown race which is the description of Malay race, is it possible that they are the Ainu, Annun, or Annen which have only become brown being living along the seas of the southeast Asia island countries?

Alice: In Genesis chapter 10, we find that one of Noah's grandsons was named Kush (also spelled Cush in English). He had many descendants. The Kushite peoples are in the R1 Haplogroup which has 2 main subgroups - R1a and R1b. There are a range of physical features in the R1 haplogroup. The point of origin is the Upper Nile Valley (Nubia, Ethiopia, Somalia, etc.) and the Lake Chad area of Africa. The physical features include dark skin, light brown skin, yellow-brown skin, and a reddish brown skin tone. Hair types varied also.

The Kushite ruler-priests dispersed into Mesopotamia, Southern Europe, and Northern India where they were called "Saka" and said to have ruled the ancient world for 7000 years. Among them were the Kushan-Yuezhi who called themselves Visha or the Vijaya. Vijaya is usually rendered "tribes" although the word refers to their two ruling royal houses, as in vijana, the splitting of wisdom. The honorific title Pharaoh derive from pr-aa, which means "great house." In Vedic tradition, pra-jna means "wisdom of the great house." The Vijaya are called "Vaishnavites" in Andhra Pradesh and Indonesia. They were "Vijay-ana-gar" kings. You can see the words Vijaya - Anu - and Gar in this word. The Ainu dispersed out of Africa before Kush's time. They were already in Indonesia, Okinawa, and Hokkaido by 20,000 years ago. Noah lived long after this, close to the end of the Africa Humid Period, an interval between 16,000 and 6,000 years ago when Africa was much wetter due to a strengthening of the African monsoon.

Mr. Bulang: I learned of many things from the past from the knowledge you imparted to me.  As regards the ancient name of the Creator Aza/Azu/Asha, is it related to the Arabic word AZIZ? Names like ABD UL AZIZ literally mean "place of Aziz," I hope I am correct.  Is there a connection between these words and if there is then how have this entered into the Arabic language.  Pardon my curiousity, but I wonder why most of the words you have mentioned are appearing in other places and uses.

Alice: The Arabic word Aziz refers to the Creator. It means "powerful, respected, beloved", derived from Arabic عزّ ('azza) meaning "to be powerful" or "to be cherished". In Islamic tradition al-'Aziz is one of the 99 names of Allah. Arabic was the language of the Kushite traders who came to the Philippines in the 10th century AD. Sargon I is said to have been the son of a woman who was overshadowed by the High God. His home was called Azu-piranu, meaning house/sun temple of God (Azu in Akkadian, Asa in Chadic, Asha in Kushitic, and Ashai in Hebrew.)

Mr. Bulang: Thank you madame for your generosity of sharing this vast knowledge about people. Have you any literature about the word JAH-BUL-ON?  My limited knowledge about it is this is a combination of three name of GODS in ancient times, of different times and of different places and from it comes the word RAJAH or BAAL. I read somewhere that JAH-BUL-ON was translated like "I am what I am, Lord Most High, Father of All" and if the translation is correct is the word BUL, related to Melchizedik the Priest of the LORD MOST HIGH who met Abraham after he and his 318 warriors won in a battle against the 5 Kings?

Alice: I do not believe that Jah-bul-on means "I am what I am, Lord Most High, Father of All." Jah or Yah is a very ancient name for the Creator God and it originated in the region on the Upper Nile. The divine name appears on monuments and altars there. Two hieroglyphic references dating to the New Kingdom (BC 1550-1069) refer to “the land of the Shasu of YHWH.” These are the oldest references to YHWH outside the Bible. The "Shasu of Yhw" is found on inscriptions from the Nubian temples of Soleb and Amara West, and corresponds precisely to the tetragrammaton YHWH.

Melchizedek was a Jebusite ruler-priest. The Jebusites controlled Jerusalem before the time of King David. They were ethnically Kushite. Melchizedek was Abraham's priest and one of his kinsmen.

The word bul refers to a kingdom or a territory, such as in the word Bulgaria, which means Kingdom of the Gur/Ghur/Gurjar. (This contrary to the belief of Turkish scholar Erol I. Yorulmazoglu who states that "The name [Bulgar] was derived from the ancient Turkish word bulgha (to mix)." (Yorulmazoglu, The Turks, Vol. 1, p. 241.) The root of Gur or Ghar is GR and likely refers to tent dwellers. Ger is the word for the tent home of nomadic clans of the Steppes.

The people of Bohol, where you live, are called Bul-Annun, which would mean people of Annun territory. (The arrival of the Kushite rulers in Bohol probably corresponds to the time of the Eskaya alphabet, about AD 670.) Likewise, there are Sugbu-Annun (Cebuano) of Cebu; Buay-Annun of Buayan, Butu-Annun of Butuan, and Hiligay-annun or Ilonggo of Anninipay (Panay).

The word Annum is a vairant of On, a reference to the Ainu who were the first builders of the great Nilotic shrine at On (Heliopolis, Sun City). Genesis chapter 41 says that Joseph married the daughter of the ruler-priest of On. 

Mr. Bulang:  Dear Madame Linsley, Noah was born about 5,000 BCE. I read that the Kingdom of Ur was founded by Ur son of Kessed offspring of Arphasad son of Shem son of Noah about 4,000 BCE. This UR city, which at its time is the biggest in the world with a population of 65,000, ceased to exist about 450 BCE. I believe that it is safe to assume that at the time of UR it was the seat of knowledge of religion, sciences, and even hidden wisdom. And Abraham was born about 2,000 BCE at Ur Kasdim or Ur of the Chaldeans.

Alice:  Noah's homeland was in the region of Lake Chad. This is the point of origin of many of the people in the R1b Haplogroup, including Abraham's Proto-Saharan ancestors. The story of Abraham opens in the Bible with him living in the Tigris-Euphrates Valley because that is the territory of his Kushite ancestor, Nimrod. Abraham's father was a descendant of Nimrod and a ruler-priest who maintained two wives. One resided at Ur and the other at Haran. Terah died in Haran. This map shows the dispersion of the peoples in the R1b Haplogroup. Note the deep red in the location of Lake Chad in central Africa. That is Noah's homeland, called Bornu, meaning "Land of Noah." The density of people in the R1b group is quite great there, as it is in Spain, France and the British Isles. There is a range of physical appearance among these peoples, yet they are kin.

Mr. Bulang: You told me that the Ainu, Annun, or Annen, which is the race of Abraham, have already reached southeast Asian island about 20,000 years ago even before the period of Noah, Terah, and Abraham and the existence of the city of Ur. So the Ainu, Annun, or Annen who first reach the south east asian island may not yet have the knowledge of Noah, Terah, Ophir, Abraham, and the City of Ur when they reach Southeast Asia. Or they are already trading with city of UR at the time of birth of Abraham, which one?

Alice: There were Ainu among Abraham's ancestors, certainly, but they were only one people group from whom Noah, Terah and Abraham descended. All of these men were rulers and the ruling houses of the Proto-Saharans and the Nilotes intermarried. These archaic kingdom builders built many urban centers and many of them have the designation 'R because that indicates a shrine city. Examples include ER-ech, IR-ad, AR-am, AR-menia, and Tamana IR-ik, a town in Papua New Guinea.  In the Phippines you have a ruler of Ur, Rajah Urangguwan, who governs the people called Ur-Annun. These fortified cities were usually at higher elevations and therefore are called "the high places" in the Bible. In ancient Sumerian ékur refers to a mountain house, a pyramid, or an elevated Sun temple.

Mr. Bulang: Abraham has his six sons from Keturah who he sends to the far away country on the East, far away from Abraham (Gen 25.6) which happen about 2,000 years BCE. And he give gifts to his sons of Keturah. But no mention of what the gifts are, right mam?

Alice:  Abraham had nine sons. His two firstborn were Joktan (Yaqtan) and Isaac (Yitzak). Isaac was his proper heir and inherited Abraham's territory in Edom after Abraham died. Yaqtan ruled as a prime minister in the territory of his maternal grandfather, after whom he was named. The Joktanite clans still reside in Southern Arabia. Some of these are called "Dedanites" in the Bible.

The typical gifts given to sent-away sons included: slaves, cattle, sheep, donkeys, camels, warriors, weapons, tents, ropes, metal objects and ritual objects such as circumcisin knives and protective amulets and figurines.

Mr. Bulang: I am thinking deeply. If I am to be Abraham what gifts will I give to my beloved six sons? They are beloved because their mother is my cousin Ainu, annun, annen, my race and blood and a daughter of my uncle a ruler priest, and surely beloved because I am able to have six sons with her several times more than my other wives. I am thinking that if I am Abraham I will give the following gifts:

1. Territory

2. I will gift my sons the Titles of Royalties or Monarchy form of government appropriate for their being sons of a ruler priest. I will provide the King Making Rights and the titles and maybe just maybe I will give the highest title worthy of a King of my Ainu, Annun, Annen race the title RA+YAH (son God RA plus highest God YAH) which become RAJAH which are the titles of highest nobility of Southeast Asian Empire Shri Vijaya and all the Kingdoms of the Ophir or Philippines as mentioned such that Buul has Rajah Sikatuna, Sugbu has Rajah Humabon, Buayan has Rajah Balatamay, Ur has Rajah Urangguwan , Butuan has Rajah Silongan, Rajah Siagu, Anninipay (Panay) has Rajah Marikudo.

3. I will gift my sons of religion of my forefathers... and because there were six of them I will consecrate them as ruler priest, but I will surely insure that they will be a priest of a God Most High. My father when praying he would raise his hands from the below forming letter V while imploring then close his palms up and bring it down in inverted V like the shield of David, raising him as offering from the mother Earth to the father in heaven, and imploring that the father in heaven bring his blessings down to the mother earth.

4. I will gift my sons with  knowledge and wisdom of mining, engineering, navigation, and architectures.  That is the reason why where my sons are settled there are petroleum reserves. This thing I been wondering that mostly of the areas where there are royalties there are petroleum or mineral reserves, and I would say they are blessed. I read somewhere that Abraham gifted his sons with black magic. I think it is out of character to a Patriarch like Abraham to gift his sons, blood of his blood and flesh of his flesh, with black magic, what you think?

Alice:  Black magic, sorcery, and all occult practices were forbidden to the Habiru (Hebrew) ruler-priests. Unlike shamans who consult the spirits, the ruler-priests of the Bible consulted only the Holy Spirit through prayer and study of holy Scriptures. When Saul consulted a medium to call up the spirit of Samuel, he was condemned for this as a great evil. Samuel, the Horite prophet, told him, "For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and insubordination is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has also rejected you from being king." (1 Samuel 15:22-24)

Your sons will have a good inheritance from you. There is no gift as great as the gift of knowing who we are and the faith traditions of our ancestors. Only then can we live in accordance with their good values.

Dispersion of the Ruler-Priests

What follows is a recent communication with Mr. Jose C. Bulang who has been following my research for several years and using it to trace his ancestry.


My name is Jose Calsis Bulang. I keep on reading historical materials which may help me trace my descent both from my mother and father side.

One entry that kept me wondering is about King Herod Agrippa II which can be read in the Acts of the Apostles Chapter 24: verse 24. In a Cebuano translated Bible of the New Covenant version there was an entry in the Glossary which said: "Agrippa II - Son of the grandson of Herod the Great. King of Calsis, a small nation north (Amihanan) of Palestine. He ruled also the adjacent lands. It was before Agrippa II and his sister Berenice that Paul defended himself Acts 24:24)"

In that same book it said that Drusila, the wife of Roman Governor Felix who ruled Judea from 50-62 A. D. was King Agrippa II sister and she was Jewish. It was before Roman Governor Felix of Judea that Apostle Paul defended himself concerning the faith in Christ.

I wonder now why my mother's family have carried the family name Calsis, which according to glossary in that New Covenant Bible translated from Greek version in 1935 was a "small nation north of Palestine" and ruled by a Jewish King Agrippa II in the period estimated from 50-62+ A.D. Can it be possible that my mother's bloodline was Jewish?

Was there really such nation Calsis that existed that time, madame? Anyway, I hope I am not disturbing you and taking much of your time.

Greetings, Mr. Bulang.

This is very exciting news! Josephus reports that Emperor Claudius gave Herod of Chalcis the Syrian kingdom of Chalcis at the foot of Mt. Hermon in the Lebanese mountains (ca. 42 CE). Though he never ruled Judea, Herod was granted authority over the temple with the hereditary right to appoint high priests. With that authority he would certainly be regarded as an appropriate dignitary for the installation of a king.

The DNA Profile you sent me traces your Y-chromosome ancestry, or your patrilineal ancestry. The profile indicates that your male ancestors did not originate in East Asia. The primitive Iberian ancestry is really Paleo-North African. This might include ancient Nilo-Saharan peoples, some of whom went to Palestine, Syria and India.

Is it possible that your family name was originally Calsi? The name Calsi is found in Spain, Italy and other parts of Europe, but the name appears to have originated in Palestine and the region of the Nile Valley. Originally, it was probably spelled Kalsi. That spelling is found among Indian traders in Egypt. There is a region of India called Kalsi-Chakrata. Here is a video about one of the Kalsi Rock Edicts of the ruler Ashoka.

Ashoka was the third monarch of the Mauryan dynasty in India, reigning from around 269 BC. His rock edicts were a way to reform the abuses of Hinduism. King Ahoka wanted to eliminate the excessive sacrifice of animals which benefited the Hindu priests financially and made it possible for the people to eat lots of curried meat.

The name Amihanan is found in the Philippines. There is a lake area by this name on Malalison Island. The place name may be related to the word for the northeast monsoon which is "amihan."

This indicates that Herod of Chalsis was indeed a very important man. Jewish identity is traced through the mother, so it appears that your mother's family might be Jewish, or at least related to the Herodians, who were Horites. The Herodians were originally from the kingdom of Edom. They ruled after the time of Abraham, one of the earlier ruler of Edom. The Edomite rulers were famous for their water works, temples, rock shelters and tombs.

Herod the Great's father was Antipater, was an Edomite of great influence and wealth who increased both by marrying the daughter of a noble from Petra. At that time Petra was the capital of the rising Nabataean kingdom. The Nabataeans were related to the Red Nubians, who long before the time of Herod the Great, had dispersed widely. Some were called Saka. They ruler in northern India and dispersed widely.

Madame Linsley,

My observation concerns the grandson of Herod the Great, Herod V or Herod of Chalcis, who held the office of priestly line of the house of Herod consistent with the Nilotic family practice of appointing the eldest as the kingly line thus sending them away to established kingdom while the younger stays as the priestly line to minister the kingdom of her mother, am I correct in this? Thus, Herod of Chalcis as the highest priest of the family of Herod the Great installed emperor Claudius, using the installation ceremony on "raising from the dead" to become king, which installation ritual for a king started with king Sargon who was rose from the dead to become king of kings thus SARGON. Am I correct on this, Madame?

Mr. Bulang,

The priestly caste that we are considering had a unique and distinctive kinship and marriage and ascendancy pattern that involved two wives. Only the first born son of the first wife – usually a half-sister – ruled over his father’s territory. That is why Isaac, born to Abraham's half-sister Sarah, ruled over Abraham's territory, though he was not the first son to be born to Abraham.

Herod of Chalcis does not fit this pattern, as far as I can tell. As the grandson who is named after his maternal grandfather, he fits the pattern of the first born son of the second wife – usually a cousin or a patrilineal niece. This son served as a high official in the kingdom of his maternal grandfather, or as a representative of that royal house. If this is the case, Herod of Chalcis would not have acted as his grandfather's representative at the installation of Claudius I because Herod died in 4 BC and Claudius I reigned from 41-54 A.D.  Herod's kingdom was divided as follows:

  Tetrarchy (Judea) under Herod Archelaus, also ruled Edom from 4 BC to 6 AD 

  Territory under Herod Antipas

  Territory under Herod Philip II

  Salome I (cities of Jabneh, Azotas, Phaesalis)

  Roman province of Syria

  Autonomous cities (Decapolis)

It is possible that Herod of Chalcis is a reference to Herod of the Ar clans, that is, the ruling clans of the ancient world. Archelaus means "master of the people" in Greek. Perhaps Chalcis is derived from the Greek word Ar-chelaus?  I am speculating here. The Ar/Aro caste of priest-kings were highly militarized and dispersed widely.

Many ancient Hebrew are associated by their names with the Ar patrimony. Two examples are Aroch (1 Chr 7:39, Ezr 2:5, Neh 6:18, Neh 7:10) and Ariel (Ezr 8:16, Isa 29:1, Isa 29:1, Isa 29:2, Isa 29:2, Isa 29:7). Ariel means “Scribe/Messenger of God.” It appears that the Ar clans were known as royal scribes, messengers or prophets. This is further suggested by the name Ar-vad. Vad means “to speak” in Sanskrit. The root is vd, which also refers to seeing. In Ancient Egyptian vidjet refers to the Eye of Horus, the son of the Creator. In Serbian, vidjet means "to see." There are many connections between ancient Nilotic words and those found in Serbia and Northern India were the Kushite Saka ruled for many thousands of years.

The association of the name Ar with the scribal caste is further demonstrated by the discovery of Aramaic scrolls from Arsames, the satrap, who wrote to his Egyptian administrator Psamshek, and to an Egyptian ruler named Nekht-Hor. (A.T. Olmstead, History of the Persian Empire, Chicago, 1948, pp.116-117) Numerous historical persons are identified as Ar: Ar-Shem, Arsames, Artix, Araxes, and a Jebusite ruler called Araunah who sold King David a threshing floor upon which David constructed an altar. One of Jesus' close kinsmen was Joseph Ar-Mathea. He was of the Matthean ruling line.

Priests certainly were involved in the installation of kings and emperors. Often more than one. This practice goes back to before the time of the Pharaohs.

Sargon means “King of Kings” or “Most High King” and is a title that applied to more than one person. It is difficult to connect Sargon the Great with the house of Chalcis. However, since rulers tend to marry persons of royal birth, it would not be surprising to find a connection.

Dear Madame Linsley,

I have additional thoughts I wish to share with you. Historically, what is now called Philippines in the period 600 AD - 1300 AD is part of geopolitical area called Tanah Melayu or Malay Lands under or allied with the Malay Shri Vijaya empire based at Palembang, Sumaterah, now part of Indonesia. What is now called Philippines is a groupings of Kingdoms or Rajahnates.

Central of this grouping of kingdoms is the Uranen Kingdoms. The people in these Kingdoms are called Iranun. Iranun Kingdom was centered in what is now present Lanao provinces in Mindanao. It was said that before the Spanish conquest of Visyas and Luzon on the Philippines, Mindanao was never conquered by the Spanish empire in its 377 years of colonial occupation, kingdoms in what is now Philippines is peopled by Iranuns and only broken down into various tribes during colonial occupations to divide and rule. Historically Iranun are skilled sailors and fierce warriors that Spain and America was not able to subdue Mindanao during its colonial occupation. In 1515 a Shariff from Johor, now part of Malaysia, arrived in Mindanao and began Islamization, and married to Iranun and thus the present Muslim family in Mindanao come about.

I am wondering about the word Uranen, Ir-anun, Bul-Anun. I am thinking that word Uranen is composed of two words combined together the word UR and ANNEN wich may have come from the word ANNUN. And if it is both a noun UR being place and ANNEN or ANNUN being people it would translate into PEOPLE OF UR. I was reading ancient history about the kingdom of UR a port city in what is now Iraque (aque is an Iranun word which mean friend) and it flash to my mind that an Iranun in the Philippines are people from UR Kingdom, what you think Madame Linsley. and in fact these people, or some of them belong to royalty; claimed they are descendants of Abraham or related to Abraham and even to Adam.


Dear Mr. Bulang,

The Vijaya empire was ethnically Kushite. "Kushite" is a general label for many peoples whose ancestors lived in prehistoric times in the Upper Nile-Lake Chad area.The Kushites spread from the Nile Valley into Ur of Mesopotamia and into the Tarum Valley of Southern China. These people were great warriors, sea travelers, astronomers, pyramid builder, and mining experts. They mummified their dead rulers.

The Kushan-Yuezhi of Central Asia called themselves Visha or the Vijaya. They are Kushites also. They spread through Central Asia, from around 180 BC to 30 AD. Some Vijaya went to Madagascar, Borneo, and Sulawesi in Indonesia. Your family is probably part of this group of Kushite Vijaya. They were famous as rice merchants, sea travelers, and scribes. It appears that there were two ruling houses that intermarried, but at some point the two groups separated.

Annen or Annun does mean people, but it also is a reference to a Nilotic people of very ancient genetic lineage. They are called Ainu or Annu. They spread across the earth from the Nile-Lake chad area. They are a "first empire" people. Some live today in Western China. Some Ainu live on the islands of Hokkaido and Okinawa, and some live in the Hudson Bay area of Eastern Canada. Abraham ancestors were Ainu. The Ainu spread out of Africa before the Kushites moved into Central Asia. Bul-Anun means kingdom or territory of the Ainu, the same as Bul-Gharia (Bulgaria) means kingdom or territory of the Ghar/Gur/Gurjar.

Sun Symbolism and Blood Guilt

Over the past 2 years I have had several fascinating conversations with Mr. Jose C. Bulang of Bohol (Philippines). Mr. Bulang is a faithful reader of JUST GENESIS and has found some of the research helpful in his pursuit of information about his family's origins. The emphasis of his ancestors on adherence to One True God suggests Muslim merchants or traders - the Gur or Gurjars. In Akkadian gurguri means metalworkers or copper smiths. In Somali Oromo gurguru means to sell (gurgurtaa = sale, gurguraa = seller). In Somali "gur" refers to collecting something and gurgure means one who collects and keeps collecting. The Gurgure clan of the Somali Dir refers to traders who collect wares and resale them.

What follows is a portion of a recent correspondence with Mr. Bulang.


Jose Bulang: When my father was alive, he died in 1993, he would always talked about symbolism, symbolism of thing called pair (or is it like to your binary) like the sun and the moon, the day and the night, the man and the woman, and according to him the most important is the hole and that something that is to be place in the hole that made a coupling. And that the most important symbol is zero for everything will get back into it, as zero is the symbol of supreme intelligence. I do not know how you think of it.

Alice Linsley: The binary feature of reality is the beginning of wisdom. I believe that your father was a very wise man. I wonder did he think of the zero as a sun symbol?

Jose Bulang: Yes, my father use to tell me that O is the symbol of sun, according to him the Alpha and the Omega, to the sun we come so to it we go. He also told me that the earth is a big hole that the sun breath unto it and there comes life. I remember he illustrated to me having his two palms together in a molding fashion and breathing an air on it, and he said that what he breath is like the energy from the sun and it gives life and it is what is said in the Bible "God made image of him from the dust and breath a spirit unto it and it become man."

He told me that spirit is energy trapped in a shell called human body from the earth, and earth is mother and sun is the father, earth is negative sun is positive. and when this energy is released the body returned to the dust and the spirit return to the source that is the Sun. But even the earth may come back into the sun, at anytime. My father lost interest in worldly things, he engrossed in prayers but he is not going into the church. Very seldom, when invited to baptisms or burials did he go to church.

Alice: The solar symbolism that your father shared with you is very ancient wisdom. The image of the human body as a shell is especially beautiful to me because I used to collect shells and I still have some that I gathered off the beaches of Luzon.

Jose: One day I ask my father where our eldest ancestor come and who is he, he answered, "I cannot be certain but accordingly our eldest ancestor was named Osman and claimed to have come from the House of Sulaiman. Accordingly, he told our grandfather, "bring your children to the belief and service of one and only God and so the blood of the Bulang will be cleanse of its Curse." This thing my father have told me. And because of this I have made a research which I started at age 40. I am now 57. It bothers me because the Curse in the Bible refers to Cain and his downline.  In history it refers to Alexander the Great, and in history of the family, if my research is right, there were killings between the family members - the reason why we are now in the Philippines.

Alice: The curse is the same for all clans, all families. It is blood guilt that comes from the blood on our hands, and the anxiety that comes from consciousness of our mortality. Some blame the Jews for Jesus' crucifixion because the agitators in the crowd shouted, "His blood be on us and on our children." However, every human in every generation bears guilt for His blood. The paradox is that His blood frees us from the curse, from guilt, and from anxiety.

None is without the curse. It is our existence since death entered the world. All have ancestors who have taken life and spilled blood. Blood is the substance of human life and it has power to speak even from the ground. When Cain killed Abel, Abel's blood cried out to the Creator from the ground. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ covers all blood guilt. Only by the blood of the Pure One can the blood of the impure ones be made right. And when we doubt that the curse has been removed, we need to receive HIM again in the Holy Sacrament of Bread and Wine; doing this with thanksgiving. Our thankful hearts make the heart of God rejoice.

The priesthood emerged as a response to blood guilt and anxiety of blood guilt. It is the oldest known religious office. Remember that the priest Melchizedek came to Abraham after Abraham had been in combat. Melchizedek came to perform the rite of purification to relieve Abraham of his blood guilt and anxiety, and this rite involved bread and wine. It speaks of Jesus Christ. His symbol in the ancient world was the Sun, and the Sun was believed to give life to the Earth. The ancients were very concerned when there was a solar eclipse, but over time they came to understand that life on Earth does not end when the Sun is black (eclipsed). The Eternal One remains even when His glory is veiled.

Pythons Used for Sea Navigation

Mr. Jose Bulang and I have had several conversations about his ancestors. He lives in the Philippines, but his ancestors came there from the west.

His father was a traditional healer, a role that passed from father to son. The gift of healing (charism?) had been passed through the male line for many generations. It extended to natural phenomena such as rain and waves.

Jose told me a story about his childhood. His family had a small farm. One day, after a period of dry weather, his father took him to the corn field. They circle the field 7 times and then went home. Later that day it rained, but only on the Bulang farm and the crop was saved.

However, not long after that locusts came. Mr. Bulang explains, "But I remember we not harvested more than enough because locust and other pest have feasted on that farm. After several years when I am older I asked my father what happened and why? And he said "the created feasted on what God provided."

Jose's father had a reputation as a man of prayer. The fishermen came to the house and insisted that he go with them on their fishing expeditions, though he was not a fisherman. Mr. Bulang explains, "There were about 7-10 in the fishing boats which would take about 15 days before it come back to General Santos city. The fishermen would come to the house to fetch my father and sometimes my mama would say "Why are you bringing Kulas then you are not letting him fish? And the fishermen would say, "because if there are big waves he will pray for us and the sea become calm."

Bulang clans are found in many parts of the world. According to Jose Bulang his ancestors were known as "travelers." Bulang are among the original inhabitants of Yunnan in China. Yunnan can also be Yon or Y-On (as in Biblical On on the Nile) or Y-Ainu. There the Bulang live in huts, often on pillars, in the humid mountain forests. A rite of passage to signal readiness for marriage among the Chinese Bulang involves dying their teeth.

Here is another fascinating story told by Mr. Bulang.

My father told me that according to story as told him by his father, his first ancestor who arrive at Dauis, Panglao, Bohol was a big man long haired who has a big python pet who he used to play in the sea when he is taking a bath. My father would say that such python is useful in sea travel because the python when place in the forward side of the boat will always direct his nostril towards the winds and can detect approaching typhon or water turbulence by being itself being restless, this my father said is according to that man. And also the snake eat only once and only during full moon that it is useful when navigating for a long period and no star can be seen as guide. This made me realize, I do not know if it is correct, that the travelers that time used this NAHASH, or Ahas in Philippine dialect, as travel instruments in the river or on the seas;

That said ancestor, according to my cousin Fausto Bulang when I started interviewing and building the house of Bulang as a genealogy, claimed that his family owned Panglao Island. This is highly impossible according to my cousin, but maybe true if that ancestor descended from Shri Vijaya empire which is believe to be ruled by a Suryavanshi, which empire used to have what is now called the Visayas group of Island of the Philippines as part of its territory.

My friend Historian, wrote that Bool Kingdom of what is now Bohol was already recognized by Mecca, Saudi Arabia as a kind of Bishopric with Shariff Para as the Muslim missionary circa 1550 AD. He had written about ESKAYA, Ophir in relation to Bohol. His topic about Eskaya and Ophir can be read when Googled.

There are many things coming back to my memory as I read about your blog relative to what my fathers in the past have told me and I experience myself.

I have read your blog for about two months now and what has been bothering me mentally for the past 50 years has been lightened. I seem to understand now why my father, who died in 1994, as said by my uncle who recently died, witness by my mother from their acquaintances in their early years, until I witness it myself, would wake at dawn every day to face the rising sun and pray for two hours, and in the midday, he stopped whatever he was doing to pray, and in the afternoon he faced the downing sun to pray again.

And when in my younger years I asked why he faced the sun to pray he would say "because it is the emblem of God." He would lie kissing the ground but in all his life he was not a follower of Islam. In fact, in the Catholic church in Dauis, Bohol his grandfather Damiano Bulang's name is etched in the first right side Column. How I longed and wish I can show my father to you in his position while performing his dawn prayer facing the sun, and I can hug him today.

When I was about 9 or 10 years old after reading history of Daniel, about Samson in the Bible, about Alexander the Great in World History, one time I asked my father where we were descended from and he would say it was not clearly known, but his great great great grandfather was a name of Osman and once said that he come from the house of Sulaiman. And so I embark on research in my later life, and I found out that my family name Bulang was name of the place kampung Bulang of the royalty of Malacca/Johore (Hindu-Malay) empire from 1400-1800.

I have read every entry of the www.royalark.net pertaining to Malaysia and Singapore. In fact, I noticed the brother-sister-cousin marriage practice. And it appeared that my great grandfather is a sent away first son of the Sultan Sulaiman Badr Ul Alam Shah who ruled Johor Empire from 1720-1760, and this is together with the sent away grandson of his successor son Sultan who was murdered. The period being the most turbulent in South East Asia being occupied and conflict area by the Dutch and English. In fact, in that Genealogy it appeared that the wife of Sultan Husain who signed the cession of Singapore with Sir Stamford Raffles to British was named Inche Puan Bulang. And so I was wondering and bewildered where our roots are coming from.

And two years ago I have myself DNA profiled under 16 Y-STR, and to my great surprise although I can not exactly understand and interpret it result some of my individual data under are aplenty in Iberian peninsula.

You can see picture of my father while 20 years old when you google the "House of Bulang."  But take no mistake, we are poor and we are working hard to progress as a family. We are related to family who have family name like Tubal, Tubio, and Abejaron which may be read Abd el Iaron.

Anyway, in the wikipaedia there is an entry about Gujarat. It speaks of Gujjars whose origin is unknown but it says that these people were Sun worshipers. It said that its plate has an emblem of God, Sun.

Is it possible that these people known as Gujjars are descended from Horite ruler-priests and maybe descendants of Keturah?

My apology for taking much of your time. I think I just got excited. I am really thankful you have helped me in my research and I hope to God I am not wrong about my presumption.

I am very grateful to Mr. Bulang for contacting me and for his kind words about my research in Biblical Anthropology. It is my hope that this research will help and bless many people. Here I hope to answer some of Mr. Bulang's questions.

The Bulang clans are found in many parts of the world. Some are the original inhabitants of Yunnan in China. Yunnan can also be Yon or Y-On (as in Biblical On on the Nile) or Y-Ainu. There the Bulang live in huts, often on pillars, in the humid mountain forests. A rite of passage to signal readiness for marriage among the Chinese Bulang involves dying their teeth. Among the Nilotic Luo and the Natufians of ancient Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan and Syria, the rite, called nak, involved removing six front teeth.

The round houses of the Bulang and their old ways of life resemble those of the Ainu of Northern Japan. Here is a photo of a Bulang women cooking in Yunnan.

Compare this image to the photo below of Ainu women and their homes in Northern Japan.

Note the letter Y in the place called Yunnan. This ancient symbol indicated a people who venerated the Sun, like the Biblical Horites. In fact, the word Jo-hor reflects Horite beliefs. A variant spelling would be Y-Hor and it means Horus is God's appointed, or the Messiah. The point of origin for Messianic expectation is the Nile Valley and the expectation is expressed in the language, images and religion of Abraham's Nilo-Saharan ancestors for whom the Y was a solar cradle that indicated the ruler-priest. That is why the names of many Biblical rulers begin with Y. Yaqtan (Joktan), Yacob (Jacob), Yosef (Joseph), Yeshua (Joshua), Yetro (Jethro) and Yishai (Jesse) are examples.

The cultural context of these people is Kushite. According to Genesis 10, they are descendants of Noah through his grandson Kush and Kush's sons Ramah, Dedan and Nimrod. These are the rulers, priests, merchants and craftsmen of the ancient Afro-Asiatic Dominion. The Bible speaks of them as "the mighty men of old." They migrated out of the Upper Nile Valley in different directions, but the main movement was to the east.

DNA evidence confirms the Kushite migration out of the Nile Valley. There were many migrations, but the Kushan-Yuezhi provide evidence of a relatively recent movement of Kushite craftsmen-traders. By this time, human populations were scattered across the earth wherever there were major water systems. Some of those populations resulted from earlier migrations out of Africa. The first took place about 120,000 years ago and the second about 70,000 years ago. The Kushite expansion coincided with the spread of the Horite religion by the Hapiru. In the proto-Saharan languages p is replaced by b so Hapiru also appears as Habiru (Hebrew).

The Habiru venerated the Sun as the emblem of the Creator, just a Christians venerate the Cross as the emblem of Jesus Christ. They did not worship the Sun, as the Wikipedia article claims. Even today in Judaism the Birka Hachama or “Sun Blessing” is performed every 28 years.

Some Kushite craftsmen-traders moved into central Asia and China, and others moved into Japan. They are also called Gujjar and Gurjar. Gurjar is a reference to their mercantilism and metal work. Bulgaria likely refers to a territory (bul) in which the Gurjar lived.

In Akkadian gurguri means metalworkers or copper smiths. In Somali Oromo gurguru means to sell (gurgurtaa = sale, gurguraa = seller). In Somali gur- refers to collecting something and gurgure means one who collects and keeps collecting. The Gurgure clan of the Somali Dir refers to traders who collect wares and resale them. Among the Dir guri means stick, rod or firearm. Among the Ainu of Northern Japan guruma means wheel. The Ainu of Japan believe the "koro-pok-guru" lived there before the Ainu.

A Gurjar friend tells me that her people are descended from the Kushan and Huns. There are 10 Gujar clans in India: Kasana/Kushana (the largest), Baisla (Baileus in Greek), Khatana, Hoon, Hepthali, Tongar, Chechi, Chawda, Guj and Gorsi. The Kushana of India and the Gurjars of Punjab worship Nana, the goddess of the Nile. There are hundreds of Gurjar clans spread across India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. (The plight of the Gurjars is discussed here.)

These traders and merchants of the ancient world did business along the great rivers and were also seafaring. Their commodities were weighed and evaluated at the shrines by the Horite ruler-priests. This custom is evident in the book of Leviticus where it equates twenty gerahs to one shekel (Lev. 27:25). The custom of the priests weighing and placing value on offerings and traded commodities explains the linguistic connection between the Gurjars and the Horites and between the words ghar/khar and har. In ancient Egypt khar referred to a unit of measurement offered at the temple (James Orr, The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, page 1421). The association of the roots gr (trader) and hr (Horite) is evident in Southern India in place names such as Gurgaon Haryana. Mr. Bulang's forefathers came from this part of India.

The movement of craftsmen-traders out of the Nile Valley began long before Abraham's time, so it is not possible for Mr. Bulang to establish lineage from Abraham and Keturah. His ancestors may well have been in Southern India when Abraham lived in Canaan, or they may have been closer to the Philippine Islands. If they came from Arabia originally, they might be related to the Joktanite (Yaqtani) clans of southern Arabia who descend from Keturah's father, Joktan the Elder. In some ancient Near Eastern texts these Arabian craftsmen-traders are called "Sauda-gar."

I felt so insignificant and humbled by the knowledge you imparted to me. When I was younger my father would cuddle me while sayings his prayers to God, and blessings upon me. Even now I can visually imagine him standing covering my head with his two palms while I am kneeling and pronouncing blessings for me and to his future descendants.

Thank you for your very valuable help. I felt I have just started my journey back and it is a long way home. It has been a long hard travel of my forefathers from somewhere in Nile through the valleys and mountains of Arabia, the valleys and mountains of India, the rivers and seas of South East Asia, the peace and wars, and finally where and what I am today. Scroll down to where it shows the null allele at DYS448. Here no signal was detected in your DNA. So this eliminates from your ancestry all men with this allele. DYS448 is found most in East Asian populations. So it appears that your ancestors did not originate in East Asia.

The primitive Iberian ancestry is really Paleo-North African. This might include ancient Nilo-Saharan peoples, some of whom went to Southern India.
